Strathcarron Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy
The Physiotherapist at Strathcarron provides treatments for patients in Day Care and the In-patient Unit. The gentle techniques used can help to ease pain, breathlessness and fatigue, help mobility, prevent joint stiffness, enhance relaxation and improve function. This helps patients to remain as independent as possible to achieve the best quality of life. Working closely with the Physiotherapist is the Occupational Therapist who is also available for patients in Day care and the In-patient Unit. The aim of this service is to help patients to be as independent as possible in carrying out everyday activities, and re-building confidence and self-esteem. The patient’s individual needs will be assessed and treatments plans made in agreement with the patient and medical team. This could involve providing mobility aids, planning for a discharge home following an in-patient stay and ordering specialist equipment for use at home.
