Given the level and breadth of knowledge, skills and experience in palliative care which exists within the Hospice we are happy to act as an information and support resource for healthcare and related professionals and the public alike.
During normal working hours telephone enquiries will be passed to the most appropriate member of the team and out of hours ward staff will be able to provide advice or access a senior member of staff who may be able to assist. Requests for equipment loan will be referred and responded to on the next working day.
In the main the services offered will be:
· Advice e.g. on symptom control
· Support e.g. someone knowledgeable and sympathetic to talk to
· Information on education e.g. about different cancers, neurological disease, treatment and other local resources available for support
· Equipment Loan e.g. where a varied range of equipment to help with nursing and patient comfort can be provided on short term loan.
