Welcome to Strathcarron Hospice

Strathcarron Hospice is situated in the very heart of Scotland. From our location at Denny near Stirling we serve Central Scotland communities throughout the NHS Forth Valley area including Stirling, Falkirk, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth, in NHS Lanarkshire - a total of over 1/3rd of a million people. Strathcarron is so much more than a building, it is the hub of timely professional care for patients who have life limiting illness. Our services are free and rely on your donations and support.

Care Where and When it is Needed

For many patients, our Community Clinical Nurse Specialists are the first point of contact with our services, when they visit patients in their own homes, providing advice and support to them and their families. Care can be provided at home, in our Day Hospice, or our In-Patient Unit.

Support for You - Support for Your Family

Life limiting conditions require very specialised services and experience. Our specially trained staff come from many disciplines and work together to help patients and families to cope with the challenges of practical everyday living. This may include relieving pain or other symptoms, offering advice, access to financial help, discussing spiritual issues, or finding equipment and adaptations to aid mobility. We also offer advice to other professional colleagues in the community and hospitals. Our Education Department helps to ensure that other professionals benefit from our vast experience of palliative care issues.

Strathcarron BrochureStrathcarron Hospice has a warm and inviting atmosphere with friendly staff who always take time to listen to patients' needs and concerns. Join Us

We not only need your donations and your fundraising efforts but your time as well. Being a volunteer at Strathcarron you not only free up time for staff to provide even better care, but you add to the quality of care and life of our patients. You may want to train as a befriender, drive a minibus, serve teas, help with the garden, do repairs or help with admin. Perhaps you just want to socialise and chat to patients visiting our Day Care unit, maybe you could help an elderly family member visit the Hospice, or help out at the Annual Fete barbeque.

Whatever your experience, skill or interest, whether you are quiet or outgoing - you can be a volunteer - you can make a difference.
